Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles: Future of Transportation?

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) represent a niche but potentially vital part of the future transportation landscape. Unlike EVs, which store electricity, FCVs generate electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, with water vapor as the only emission. This technology offers several advantages, including fast refueling times and longer driving ranges, making it particularly suited for heavy-duty and long-distance applications. However, FCVs face significant hurdles such as high costs, limited hydrogen production from renewable sources, and a sparse refueling infrastructure. For hydrogen to become a more viable fuel option, substantial investments in technology and infrastructure are necessary, along with greater production of green hydrogen.
